Introducing the new IGS Associate Member Portal

Dear IGS Community,

We are happy to announce that our new and improved IGS Associate Member (AM) Portal is now available.

The new AM Registration form and information page can be found at https://igs.org/am. The new AM list can be found at https://igs.org/am/list

The old AM list is now located at https://igs.org/am/list/#legacy and will only contain AMs prior to the 1st of February 2023. This list will no longer be updated and will only be kept during the transition period, or June 2024.

Key Features of this new portal includes:

  • Associate Member Profiles – Learn more about each Associate Member such as expertise, social media accounts, and more.
  • Associate Member Accounts – To keep associate member information up to date, each associate member will have an account on igs.org to keep track of their information and edit as needed.
  • What is an IGS Associate Member? – While requirements to become an associate member were previously under a separate guidelines document, key requirements and information about Associate Membership can now be found easily at https://igs.org/am.
  • Improved Registration Form – Added additional questions to ensure each applicant meets the Associate Member requirements prior to applying and to learn more about the applicant for IGS Executive Committee (EC) approval
  • Improved Notification Process – Notifications on Associate Membership registration form Confirmation and Associate Membership Approval confirmation are now automated for fast notification.

Want to become an IGS Associate Member?

  • Interested in becoming an IGS Associate Member? As of February 1, 2023, the new Associate Member Registration Form will be located at https://igs.org/am.
  • Please complete the new application to the best of your ability. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the IGS Central Bureau (cb@igs.org)
  • Please allow up to one month to review your application. You will be notified of the IGS EC decision automatically through the system.

Are you an Existing Associate Member?

  • The IGS Central Bureau will be contacting groups of 30* each month to slowly transition to the new system and ensure we have your most up-to-date information. This will allow the IGS EC to thoroughly review each applicant.
    • *Groups of 30 will be randomly selected.
    • If you wish to complete the transition before being contacted, please contact the IGS Central Bureau (cb@igs.org) prior to doing so.
  • As a reminder “The membership is balanced with respect to IGS components, organizational representation and geography, and is meant to represent institutions which contribute significantly to the IGS on a continuous basis.”
  • Based on the above, the IGS EC will review your current application and determine your renewal status based on the recent information provided, regardless if you had been previously approved as an IGS Associate Member.
  • A grace period of 3 months will be given to each group to transition, with a reminder sent to the member each month.
  • If no response or profile created after 3 months, your IGS Associate Membership will expire.
  • If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the IGS Central Bureau (cb@igs.org).

This new portal allows more members in the GNSS community to apply to become an IGS Associate Member, and enables current IGS Associate Members to better keep track of their profile information. We hope and strive to continue serving our community as best as possible!

Best Regards,
IGS Central Bureau
