Committee on Sustainable Working Group Governance

As a result of feedback from the Strategic Planning survey and discussions during GB 58, the IGS Committee on Sustainable Working Group Governance was established in August 2021. The goal is to evaluate current IGS Working Group Governance and look at ways to invigorate participation, as well as helping to support Working Groups to be in alignment with the IGS 2021+ Strategic Plan. Discussions include to create a better, more transparent policy for Working Group Chair re-appointments , the inclusion of an under-study for the Working Group Chair position, and more active participation (even from non-Associate Members) in the Working Groups. The Committee expects to put these policies into practice during 2022.
